About the SPUR

The Summer Platform for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) is a unique, campus-wide symposium for students working on research at The University of Texas at Dallas or students affiliated with the University who have completed research elsewhere. It is designed to be a “capstone” for student projects developed during the summer. The SPUR includes a number of on-going summer research programs at UTD, including the Clark Summer Research Program, the Biomedical Engineering Summer Trainings and Research Scholars (BE STARS) program, the Center for Children and Families National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experiences for Undergraduates program and others. In addition, students who are “unaffiliated” with an organized research program, whether they are working with a faculty member or not, can present at the SPUR. This is a great opportunity to learn how to present your research to a public audience and is also great for resume and CV building.

The SPUR is primarily sponsored by the Hobson Wildenthal Honors College at UT Dallas and the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science with additional support from offices, schools, departments, centers and programs across UT Dallas’ campus.
